Ron Philbeck will demonstrate and talk about his clay work after our brief business meeting.
A potluck will be held after Ron's demo.

Meeting at Carolina Clay Connection 3:00
Kelly Carver, a Yoga teacher, will be sharing yoga exercises & tips with us to help us stay, or get into shape. She is Mary Miller's yoga teacher.  We will  have Claude Shaw, a Physical Therapy Assistant, who will give tips on keeping a healthy back and body.  And we will have Trish Hollern, a massage Therapist in Training, who will also gives up tips on getting in shape and staying that way.  www.yogaladyonline.com

Vicki Gill will give a demonstration of her techniques in making pottery. Come and join in the fun
watching Vicki work her magic in clay. Bring questions for her.  As usual we will have a potluck after the business meeting and demo.

Meeting at Carolina Clay Connection 3:00      Joyce Branch will talk about her crystalline pottery and how is it made. She will also demo her technique of incising her clay pieces. Joyce has been making pots for over 30 years and has great ideas to share.

July 20, 2008
Doc Welty will give a one day workshop on architectural & deocrative tile and outdoor ceramics at CPCC's clay studio from 9:30 until 5:00 (enter through the parking lot on Kings Drive).  This one day workshop will focus on environmental ceramics in architectural, garden, and residential applications. A slide presentation and demonstration as well as "hands on" work for attendees is planned. The day will begin with an overview of terra cotta decorative arts and applications followed by demonstrations of various methods for tile and sculpture creation including carved relief tile-work, free standing pieces, and hand pressing. Participants should leave with a working knowledge of the process as well as a finished project. (leicestervalleryclay.com)

Walter Aberson will share some of his pottery making techniques with us at 3:00 at Carolina Clay Connection. Walter has worked with clay for many years and has a wealth of information and experiences to talk about. He demonstrates throwing on his treadle wheel at our guild sales and always draws a crowd.

Lois Crumpler, a small business consultant specializing in art, will present the October meeting at 3:00 at Carolina Clay Connection.  She will be discussing marketing your art, and maintaining good business practices. 

November 16, 2008
Meeting at Carolina Clay Connection 3:00  "All about tools!" Jinny will talk about many of the tools she sells at Carolina Clay and how they work.  Also a "Glaze Exchange" ( Please bring 25 copies of  two ( put two on a page) of your favorite glazes to exchange with other members. Be sure to list a short description of how the glaze looks and what cone it is fired to.)
