Alexa studied ceramics first for 10 years with Terri Lloyd in Strasslach, Germany (Munich area) and since then with Suzanne Beckman at Carolina Clay Connection. She is primarily a hand builder and, as a Gemologist as well, is heavily weighted toward one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces made from scraps. Alexa comes from an artistic family and finds her inspiration from nature, rural Carolina, and Romantic and Impressionist painters.
