Jenn Carroll of Stone Thrown Pottery currently resides in Matthews, NC and works out of Pottery 51 in Mint Hill. She defines herself as a functional potter. Larger sgraffito works she creates can be displayed, but they also are intended to be used in everyday life. Jenn graduated in 2002 with a BA in Studio Art/Ceramics and a minor in Education from the University of NH. After graduating, she began moving all over the country. After she landed in Matthews, she took classes with Leon Nochols at Carolina Clay. Jenn ended up buying her own kiln in 2013. Her “garage potter” status came to an end two years ago when she joined Pottery 51.
